How things have changed for me over my years at the Abbey! I started out as a Viking re-enactor, camping in the Viking village for 3 years then started “The Happy Viking” and moved up to the market area with my stall for 3 years. Last year the new group that I started (with my Viking sister Zeta) – Forn Vegr, encamped for the first time. I still had my leatherwork stall but was being approached by people to do Rune readings – even before I had made a conscious decision to do so – or even head down the spiritual path with my Viking living history.
This year I am fully embracing the Seiðkona (Seer or magic woman) and my spiritual path. The leatherworker in me hasn’t gone completely! I’m still making some things but these are more in alignment with spirituality – drawstring pouches, Rune sets, Rune pendants.
If you’re heading to the Abbey this year, please make sure you come and say hello and, if you’re inclined to do so, come for a Rune reading.
